We were totally amazed by this design, so different from usual knitted pieces, so we had to try it out!
The cardigan by Katryn Seeburger is knitted using a block construction, combining different shades to build an harmonic effect once finished. All blocks are sewn with mattress stitch, that is quite a meditative thing too.
Each block is a chance to try something new, to combine different colors, and we chose to knit with A Pure and Simple Wool and Moretta together, in order to play even more with both color and fibers combination...
Please note that both yarn are held double throughout the pattern, to get a perfect DK weight
Size:
The pattern will guide you through the process of selecting which size will work for your preferred level of ease and perfect fit.
The finished garment circumferences are a 50” (70”) and 78 3/4” or 127 cm (178 cm) 200 cm bust.
This is designed to feel like a comfy quilt draped as a sweater, but ease and fit are personal and up to you.
The photographed sample is knitted in Size 1, worn with 20 cm of ease and a cropped fit.

The pattern sample used 6 colors, contrasting sleeves and ribbing set to match colors in the blocks.
However, amount of colors is flexible to your preference. This pattern looks great whether you choose to use 2 or 20 colors!
Our sample features:
This pattern features weights per swatch and design step as well as instruction of how to track your yarn usage, so that you can make a plan to use your stash, remnants, and any of your special yarns. We planned which shades to us for sleeves and ribbing, and consequently knitted a number of blocks with those shades considering the estimated sufficient yarn left, it worked perfectly.
